CORPORATE, FINANCE & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY - CFIP

The corporate and finance practice area provides a full complement of corporate and financial transactional services, including advising on corporate registration and de-registration, governance and accountability mechanisms, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, banking, and insurance regulations, credit documentation, loan recovery, receivership, derivatives and securities market operation, and regulation. This practice area also advises on acquisition and registration of copyrights, patents, trademarks, and other intellectual properties as well as transactional and regulatory activities and issues related thereto.

GOVERNMENT BUSINESS RELATIONS - GBR

Our government business and regulation practice area handles (i) advisory and drafting support to various agencies of government regarding national legislation, administrative regulations, and policies; and (ii) also advising private clients on existing statutes and regulations (and proposed amendments thereto) relating to business registration, taxation, social security, leases and sale of real and personal property, etc. Subject to the absence of conflicts, these practice areas also lead our support to private clients in negotiations with the government for large-scale contracts and investment incentives.

PROJECT FINANCE, PRIVATE, PUBLIC PARTNERSHIP - PFPPP

Our Project Finance and PPP practice areas advise on and provide legal support for investment in major industrial and infrastructure projects in connection within the mining and/or oil and gas sector, social services and critical utilities. This practice areas provides advisory and drafting support and, in some cases, subject matter expertise, to clients in respect of project structuring and financing, range and appropriate models of available private-public-partnerships to develop the project, and dispute resolution procedures.

ENERGY, ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES - EENR

Our energy and natural resource practice areas advises on investments in mining projects, the oil and gas sector (both upstream and down streams) and other extractive industries. This practice area also leads our extensive support to many stakeholders in the Liberian forest sectors and the land tenure system. It advises on environmental issues including climate change, emissions abatement, and decommissioning legacy; and support public and private sector actors in designing, reviewing and implementing policies, programs and other measures to address, cope with, mitigate and respond to the various manifestations of climate change and the resultant impacts on communities and industries.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, TELECOMS & TECHNOLOGY - IPTT

Our intellectual property, telecoms, and technology practice at HPA advise on transactional and regulatory activities in connection with copyrights, patents, trademarks, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, anti-trust and competition, commercialization of intellectual property and technology assets, and tax.
